Register for Summer

Summer registration is conducted in three phases, depending on what type of student you are. Please refer to the Registrar's website for important dates and deadlines.

6-week courses run June 25 - August 2, 2024.
9-week courses run from June 25 - August 23, 2024.

Short courses have specific durations. This will be listed in the course information on Browse Classes.

What kind of student are you?

Current WWU Student

Enrolled WWU students continuing from spring will register via Browse Classes during Phase I (May 7-12), depending on how many credits you have earned. Select the upcoming summer term and choose your search terms. Click on a course title to get detailed information, including prerequisites and course fees.

Search Tip: Use Delivery Methods / Attributes to search for face-to-face, hybrid, or online classes. You can further refine your search by adding Online-Synchronous or Online-Asynchronous.

Community Member

For those not currently working toward a degree at WWU, you will first submit a Summer Session 2024 application.

48 hours after you receive your W number from the Registrar’s Office, you will be able to log into your Patient Portal, where you can submit your Proof of Measles (MMR) Immunization.

Once this is processed, you will be notified by the Registrar that you are clear to register during Phase II (May 13 - June 24). Register via Browse Classes.

High School Student

Follow the steps for community members above, in addition to these steps:

  • Provide a letter of recommendation from your school principal or counselor.
  • Provide a letter of permission from your parent or guardian.
  • You will be notified by the Registrar that you are clear to register during Phase II (May 13 - June 24).
  • Register via Browse Classes.

International Student

(Non-U.S. citizen or non-U.S. permanent resident.)

Before applying, please contact International Student & Scholar Services at isss@wwu.edu to determine your eligibility. International students who have never attended Western must be formally admitted to a degree program or have a current U.S. visa status which allows them to study.
