Summer Session is an open quarter; formal admission to Western is not required. This is the perfect opportunity to explore some of the great programs that Western has to offer. To register for Summer Session, you will need to complete a short application and meet some standard requirements.

Yes. Summer Session is a perfect option for both current high school students and recently-graduated students. You can try out a class and enjoy smaller class sizes, helping you ease into the campus lifestyle. To apply, follow the simple steps below.

There are over 400 classes available during Summer Session.

Please do! If you love your experience at Western, we encourage you continue to pursue your educational goals. You can choose to formally enroll in a degree program or consider professional and continuing education non credit offerings. 

Summer is the only open quarter at Western, which means you don’t have to be formally admitted to Western or pursue a degree to enjoy great educational opportunities.  

Non-Matriculated Students (Not Admitted to Western)

  • Complete the Summer Session 2023 Application
  • 48 hours after you have notification from the Registrar's Office (and a WWU Student W#), you will be able to log into your patient portal MyWesternHealth.wwu.edu where you can then:
  • Following notification of WWU identification number and registration clearance, use the Web4U online registration system via myWestern from May 8 through to midnight June 26; classes begin on June 20.

Current High School Students

  • Complete the Summer Session 2023 Application
  • Follow the steps listed for non-matriculated students listed above, in addition to the steps listed below:
    • Provide letter of recommendation from school principal or counselor
    • Provide letter of permission from parent or guardian
    • Following notification of WWU identification number and registration clearance, use the Web4U online registration system via myWestern from May 8 through to midnight June 26; classes begin June 20.
